A. PROFESSIONAL MEMBER
i. Citizenship: Malaysia and abroad
ii. Minimum Age: 18 years and above
iii. Membership Criteria: A person residing in Malaysia with recognized professional qualifications, or an Associate Member who has served in library and information services for no less than seven (7) years and has settled all fees during that period is eligible to apply.
B. CORRESPONDING PROFESSIONAL MEMBER
i. Citizenship: Malaysia and abroad
ii. Minimum Age: 18 years and above
iii. Membership Criteria: A Malaysian citizen residing abroad or someone who has not resided in Malaysia for more than one (1) year and has recognized professional qualifications.
C. LIFE MEMBER
i. Citizenship: Malaysia
ii. Minimum Age: 18 years and above
iii. Membership Criteria: A person who has been a Professional Member for no less than five (5) consecutive years and has settled all fees during that period is eligible to apply.
D. PROFESSIONAL MEMBER (UNPAID)
i. Citizenship: Malaysia and abroad
ii. Minimum Age: 18 years and above
iii. Membership Criteria: A person who does not receive a monthly salary or someone who has retired.
E. STUDENT MEMBER
i. Citizenship: Malaysia and abroad
ii. Minimum Age: 18 years and above
iii. Membership Criteria: A person currently pursuing studies in this profession or related fields at a higher education institution.
F. HONORARY LIFE MEMBER
i. Citizenship: Malaysia
ii. Minimum Age: 18 years and above
iii. Membership Criteria: A person who, in the opinion of the Council, has made a special contribution to the profession.
G. ASSOCIATE MEMBER
i. Citizenship: Malaysia and abroad
ii. Minimum Age: 18 years and above
iii. Membership Criteria: A person involved in library and information services but does not have professional qualifications.
H. INDIVIDUAL AFFILIATE MEMBER
i. Citizenship: Malaysia and abroad
ii. Minimum Age: 18 years and above
iii. Membership Criteria: A person not involved in library and information services or lacking professional qualifications but interested in the goals of the Organization.
